A Two-Tone Dahlia Among Soft Pink and Rust Flowers

Floral Design Spotlight · Fleuropean

A dahlia with pale and deeper-colored petals gives Fleuropean's rainy-day arrangement a lively center. Soft pink faces and rust-colored details repeat parts of that flower's palette around it.

Read the focal flower's colors

The central flower combines lighter yellow-pink areas with deeper rose tones. Those changes within one bloom offer several colors to repeat elsewhere without needing an unrelated palette.

Mix round and open faces

Full pink flower heads sit beside flatter, more open blooms. The different shapes make the arrangement feel varied while the related warm colors keep the mixture visually connected.

Let the outer flowers turn

Several faces tilt away from a straight-on view near the edge. Their changing angles give the arrangement depth and keep the surrounding outline from looking like a flat display of circles.

Try the idea in your own style

Choose a flower with two visible petal colors. Draw it as your focal point, then repeat each color in smaller surrounding shapes. Keep one surrounding flower turned sideways to test the depth.
