Individual Dahlias Arranged as a Tabletop Flower Landscape

Floral Design Spotlight · Jenni Bloom Flowers

Jenni Bloom Flowers gives individual dahlias their own space in this tabletop display. Visible pin holders and bare stems make the flower positions part of the interest rather than something hidden beneath foliage.

Give each head room

Many flowers stand separately from their neighbors. That spacing lets us compare their petal shapes and colors, making a collection of blooms feel like several small portraits within one scene.

Vary the stem heights

Some heads sit low near the wood while others rise much higher. The changing levels give the display depth and make it feel more like a little landscape than a straight row.

Allow the support to be visible

The caption and image show pin holders as part of the presentation. Their small repeated bases give the separate stems a shared visual detail without requiring a large container around the whole group.

Try the idea in your own style

Draw individual flower heads above several small bases, varying their heights and spacing. Use this paper study to plan a tabletop grouping, then choose suitable contained supports for any fresh-flower practice.
