Rich Dinner Flowers Against a Red Patterned Tablecloth
Floral Design Spotlight · Vervain
Vervain's welcome-dinner flowers share the tablecloth's warm red tones while adding pale roses and upright purple flowers. The mixture shows how an arrangement can respond to a pattern already in the room.

Repeat the cloth's warmth
Red and deep pink flowers echo the pattern beneath the vase. That repeated color connects the flowers with the table, helping a detailed arrangement feel intentionally placed rather than separate from its setting.
Use pale roses as resting points
Muted pale rose faces sit among the stronger colors. Their broad shapes give the eye somewhere to settle and make the smaller, darker flower details easier to appreciate.
Change the shape above the roses
Upright purple flowers and narrow green stems rise above the rounder faces. Those taller lines keep the arrangement from reading as one compact mound on a busy patterned surface.
Try the idea in your own style
Choose a patterned cloth and identify one color to repeat in a small arrangement. Add a pale focal flower and one taller line. Check the combination from across the room before adding extra details.
