Small Orange Marigolds Among Deep Pink Autumn Flowers
Floral Design Spotlight · Scarlet and Violet
Little orange marigolds brighten a much darker bouquet in this Scarlet and Violet post. Their small open faces stand apart from the larger pink blooms and deep-colored foliage.

Use bright accents in small amounts
The orange flowers are noticeably smaller than the main pink heads. Their scattered placement brings light into the darker design without changing its overall rich autumn character.
Mix fine and broad surfaces
Large pink flower faces sit near airy branching clusters and broad leaves. That mix gives the bouquet several levels of detail, so it remains interesting both as a whole and up close.
Let dark foliage frame the color
Deep reddish leaves surround parts of the brighter flowers. They provide contrast at the edge and help the orange and pink details stand out against the similarly dark background.
Try the idea in your own style
Start a paper palette with deep pink and burgundy shapes. Add three very small orange circles in different areas. Notice how a little bright color can change the whole arrangement before adding more.
