Warm Peach and Yellow Dahlias in a Simple Handheld Bunch

Floral Design Spotlight · Jenni Bloom Flowers

A handful of dahlias can offer plenty of variety without extra flowers. Jenni Bloom Flowers combines peach, coral and yellow heads whose different petal shapes make this simple bunch interesting.

Mix rounded heads with longer pointed petals

Some dahlias look tightly rounded, while others have longer, looser petals. Their different surfaces give the bunch texture even though the flowers share a closely related warm palette.

Let smaller yellow heads brighten the grouping

The yellow flowers sit among the peach and coral tones rather than forming a separate bunch. Their lighter color adds little points of brightness without taking over the whole design.

Keep the stems visible below the heads

The green stems extend clearly beneath the flowers. That simple lower shape lets us focus on the flower heads and gives the gathered bunch an uncomplicated, garden-picked feeling.

Try the idea in your own style

Gather several flowers of one type but with different head sizes or petal shapes. Leave extra foliage and decoration aside at first. Compare the shapes in your hand and adjust their heights until each one has a clear place.
