White and Pale Blue Flowers Spread Across a Mantel

Floral Design Spotlight · The Rose Shed

A wide mantel can hold a flower design with several kinds of movement. The Rose Shed combines pale blue, blush and white blooms with fresh green leaves across this light fireplace setting.

Let the flowers follow the mantel's width

The main grouping travels across the horizontal ledge rather than rising from one narrow point. That broad shape makes the flowers feel connected to the fireplace's existing proportions.

Use pale blue lines to change the edge

Longer blue flowering stems reach above and beside the fuller white heads. Their direction adds a lighter outline and a gentle color change within the mostly pale arrangement.

Keep the architectural details visible below

We can still see the fireplace trim and dark opening beneath the flowers. Those firmer shapes give the loose stems a clear setting and help us read the whole composition.

Try the idea in your own style

Draw a horizontal mantel line and add a low flower shape along it. Try a few taller stems at one side and a loose line below the edge. Explore the balance on paper before planning any real mantel display and its appropriate support.
