Dahlia ‘Cornel Bronze’: Growing and Arranging
Dahlia ‘Cornel Bronze’. Cornel Bronze is a ball-form dahlia with a warm bronze-orange character. Its rounded flower outline offers a different visual rhythm from a large, loose dinnerplate bloom.
Plant profile at a glance

These reference values come from Floret Flower Farm’s record of this cultivar. Flower measurements and timing vary with growing conditions.
Planning the planting
The grower specifies full sun and spacing of 12 to 18 in. Mark the plant’s identity when planting so the label stays with the tuber and its later growth. The diameter of the nursery pot or the number of tubers offered is separate from the eventual space the plant occupies.
Floret lists a production range of 80 to 100 days. Treat that as a grower reference rather than a promised bloom date at your location. When choosing a planting date or planning winter storage, use regional advice and the conditions in your own garden.
Harvesting for an arrangement
Floret advises harvesting dahlias when the flower is mostly open, since a tightly closed bud will not continue opening like some other cut flowers. Check the back of the flower for fresh petals before choosing a stem. The linked grower notes explain its harvest and conditioning method; vase life depends on the stem and its handling rather than the cultivar name alone.
An arranging idea
Repeat a few rounded flower shapes through an arrangement to connect separate areas of color. Compare a bronze stem with the other flowers in the bucket before choosing a warm or contrasting palette.
