A shipped bouquet needs a little attention when it reaches your door. Start with water and the care instructions supplied with the flowers; you can fine-tune the arrangement afterward. Having a clean vase ready makes the whole process feel calmer, especially when the flowers arrive during a busy week.

Open the box carefully

Place the box on a stable surface and open it without cutting toward the blooms. Remove protective packaging gently. Check for a care card and any specific instructions before undoing ties or removing a hydration wrap. Keep packaging out of reach of children and pets. If something appears damaged, take a clear photo and contact the shop rather than trying to guess what happened in transit.

Give the stems a clean start

Wash the vase, prepare fresh water, and follow any flower-food directions provided. Trim the stem ends with clean, sharp tools, working carefully so the remaining length suits the vessel. Remove foliage that would sit in the water. Set the bouquet into the vase promptly, and check that all cut ends reach the water rather than resting above it.

Find a comfortable display spot

Choose a stable spot away from direct heat, strong sun, and busy edges where the vase could be knocked. Check the water as part of your daily routine. Individual flowers develop and fade at different rates; removing a tired stem can help the remaining design look cared for. Don't judge an entire bouquet by the pace of one flower.

Before you recycle the box

  • Read and keep the care information.
  • Check the water level after arranging.
  • Save the sender's note.
  • Photograph a concern while it is clear.
  • Check the current shop instructions if anything is unfamiliar.

Blessed Blooms' standard Featured Bouquet arrives without a vase. Photos may show a styled arrangement, so check the current product listing for exactly what is included before sending one as a gift.
